Thanksgiving Party

Ethan was invited to a Thanksgiving Party one day at one his best friend's house. Here he is with his friend Will. They made hats (as you can see) and placemats. They also had a feast as well. He had a great time.

Birthday Party Fun

(I know this post is a little late, but I didn't even take any pictures and I wanted to post about this weekend when I had pictures. I finally remember to ask Jordon's dad for the pictures they took so here are some of them.) We were lucky to have Jordon's dad and his wife come visit us one weekend in Oct. The kids were so excited to see them when they showed up and surprised them. That same weekend we were invited to a birthday party of the daughter of a co-worker of Jordon's. At the party they had a lady who made these balloons and also did face painting. Ethan picked a purple plane. Ashley had a pink cat. And Sam got a purple dinosaur. They were all so cool.

Ethan and Ashley both had their faces painted (we didn't want to even try with Sam). Ethan had a skull and Ashley had hearts.

We all had a great time and were sad to see them leave. Luckily we will get to spend some time with them at Christmas.

Halloween Fun

We have had a great time this Halloween doing lots of activities with Cory and Lindsey. Thursday night they came to our Stake Trunk or Treat at the church. The kids got a bunch of candy there and had a great time seeing some of there friends and teachers (Primary) there too.
On Friday (Oct. 30), the kids and I (Rachel) went over and helped Lindsey make a bunch of cute Halloween cookies (which I don't have any pictures of, but hopefully will get some). That evening we went to their ward Halloween party and the kids had a great time doing all the activities there and getting even more treats.

Saturday we went over and carved pumpkins in the excellent weather. Jordon carved Ethan's and Sam's pumpkins and I carved Ashley's.

The kids with their pumpkins.

Then they helped Uncle Cory put up spider webs out front. (Ashley didn't quite have the concept of stretching out the spider web before hanging it on the wall).

Ethan and Sam loved watching the frozen hand melt in the drink.

The kids ready to go trick or treating. Sam again wouldn't wear his devil horns and Ashley decided not to wear her wings too. We went up one street and back down the other side and the kids' buckets were half full. Ethan and Sam were tired and done trick or treating, but Ashley wanted to keep going so Jordon took her back out for another street up and back and her bucket was packed full when she got back. She wanted to empty out her bucket and go back out for more, but we were done and ready to go home. On the way home, both Ashley and Sam fell asleep. A fun, but exhausting day.

I just had to add this picture because it is so cute. Avery was laying on Lindsey's lap and Sam laid down on the couch to see her face saying "Hi baby". He just loves her (almost too much sometimes).

Our past adventures

So everytime I get on here (which is about everyday) I think to myself "I need to update this". Then I put it off because I have so many other things to do and it gets pushed back and back and back. Now it has been over a month (again) and I have finally decided to update since we now have Halloween pictures. So I put the camera card into the computer and find all these pictures of the last month that I want to add. So I add them and remember all the fun things we have done during the past weeks.

Ethan's Silly teeth.

Our trip to Gilcrease Orchard with Grandma Armitstead. We picked some apples and then the kids got to each pick a pumpkin. (Too bad a mouse ate a hole in Ashley's pumpkin before Halloween.)

Ashley's rice krispy treat cake made by Mom for her birthday party with Grandma Armitstead and Uncle Cory and Aunt Lindsey (and baby Avery). You can see she is wearing one of her presents (the wings, halo, wand, and a tutu that you can't see).

Decorating Halloween cookies. Ethan thought that he was the only who got to eat the ones he decorated. Ashley and Sam both decorated one and then ate it. Then Ashley decorated a few more with about a pound of sprinkles (which Mom later ate). Then Sam decided to help Mom decorate some more.

Ashley and Sam both went to a Halloween party put on by a girl in the ward that does a playgroup. Ashley was Snow White and Sam wouldn't wear his Superman costume so he was going to be a devil, but once we got to the party he would no longer wear the devil horns, not even for a picture. Stinker.

Since Ashley's red blanket is starting to wear around the edges we decided it was time to replace it since she won't just give it up. So we took her to the fabric store and let her pick out some material that she wanted a new blanket out of. I got it quilted and put together and she has been enjoying it. The first few days she carried both the old and new blanket around, but now is only carrying around the new one. Now it's time to wash the old one and put it away. (You can see the new one laid out on the floor with Ashley and Sam sitting on it and Ashley is holding the old one on her lap).
